After a tough home loss to rival No. 6 Boston College last Friday, the BU Terriers (7-4-1, 3-4-1 HEAW) will conclude their homestand by facing the No. 9/10 Harvard Crimson (5-0, 5-0 ECAC) tonight at Walter Brown Arena.
The Terriers will be looking to extend their unbeaten streak against the Crimson to five games, starting with the Beanpot Championship last February and going back to November of 2016. On the whole, BU still holds the advantage with a 7-7-2 record against Harvard since 2006.
The Crimson remain undefeated this season, albeit through only five games. Having outscored their opponents 25-11 thus far, junior Becca Gilmore and sophomores Anne Bloomer and Dominique Petrie have led the way offensively with 28 points.
On the other hand, the Terriers are coming off a difficult loss to Boston College in which they held the high-scoring Eagles to one goal over the first two periods before things slipped away in the third. This loss brought the Terriers to 1-2-1 at home this season.
Be sure to look out for BU’s second line of Deziray de Sousa, Nara Elia and Kristina Schuler. The three have combined for nine points over the Terriers’ last two games and have been building real momentum as a unit. On top of them, redshirt-senior captain Sammy Davis has returned to the top of the team’s points leaderboard by reaching 12 after Friday’s game
This line, Davis and the rest of the Terriers will look to start the team’s return to a winning record at home and pick up a big win before months of in-conference play and intense competition begin.
Puck drop is schedule for 7:00 p.m. Patrick Donnelly and I will have the call for WTBU Sports here.
