Podcasts: Scarlet and White 2×20 – “Beanpot”

Art thou ready for the Beanpot tournaments? Max Wolpoff and Andrew Mason sure are and they have all the information you need to know prior to puck drop Monday and Tuesday night.

After a quick rundown of why the NFL messed up the Halftime Show (again), the guys launch right into the Men’s tournament starting tonight. Each of the four schools has won the last four titles – with BU last winning in 2015. Both the Terriers and Northeastern Huskies come into this matchup on losing streaks.

Prior to Tuesday night, it is worth going over the history the BU Women’s hockey team is up against. Northeastern has three losses all year and Boston has not won a title in the Varsity Era of the tournament, but they are playing their best hockey of the season right now. The Huskies also hold the most titles in the history of the Women’s Beanpot. Find out why Harvard might be a sleeper team this season (hint: home-ice-advantage).

Both of our hosts were at the Women’s basketball game on Saturday to watch a thriller unfold. Sadly, it ended in a BU defeat at the hands of Bucknell – the top team in the Patriot League.

Andrew has one wish for his senior year: have one of the basketball teams make the NCAA tournament. Max has one wish for this year: have either hockey team win the Beanpot crown.
