Field Hockey: No. 24 Terriers host Lehigh, No. 5 UConn

The No. 24 Terriers will be returning home this weekend for a pair of games against Lehigh University, and No. 5 University of Connecticut on New Balance Field.  

Boston University (8-5, 4-0) spent last weekend on the road, and continued their undefeated record in the Patriot League on Saturday with a 3-2 double overtime win against Bucknell University.

Saturday’s opponent, Lehigh, is coming off a split weekend against Colgate University and Rider University. The Mountain Hawks hold a 2-13 record this season with a 1-4 record in the Patriot League. Freshman, Leah Mullery leads the Lehigh roster with 5 goals and 1 assist. Sophomore, Lenke Havas follows Mullery with 4 goals and 7 assists.

The Hawks’ trio of goalkeepers are led by junior Paige Innarella, who holds a .713 save percentage, saving 87 shots and allowing 35 goals. Sophomore goalkeepers Madeline Major and Stephanie Brabender hold a .468 and a .444 save percentage, respectively.

Defending National Champion University of Connecticut (13-3, 6-0) split last weekend against Villanova, a 6-0 win, and #1 North Carolina, a 2-1 loss, staying in the #5 spot in the NFHCA rankings. The Huskies are coming off a Thursday night win 6-1 against Liberty University.

Following their win, fifth year student Cecile Pieper leads the UConn roster with 16 goals and 9 assists. Junior, Svea Boker follows Pieper with 11 goals and 10 assists for the huskies.

The UConn goaltenders hold a .767 save percentage. Cheyenne Sprecher, a freshman, has saved 68 shots and only allowed 21 goals in the 16 games she’s played this season, boasting .764 save percentage. Sophomore Abby Lucas has played for a total of 15 minutes this season and holds a 1.00 save percentage saving 1 goal against Temple University.

The Boston University’s roster is led by sophomores Petra Hall and Ailsa Connolly who boast 6 points and 2 assists each. Senior Ally Hammel rounds out the Terriers’ top 3 with 3 goals and 5 assists.

Senior goaltender Kathleen Keegan, who has played the most games this season out of the three goaltenders, has a .569 save percentage this season. Junior Livy Golini, rounds out the Terrier trio with a .400 save percentage so far this season. Together, the Terrier trio holds a .557 save percentage allowing 27 goals and saving 34.
