The Boston University Men’s Ice Hockey Team has added freshman Nico Lynch to the roster following the unexpected departure of sophomore goaltender Max Prawdzik earlier this week, according to the team.
Lynch joins the Terriers out of Barnstable, Massachusetts via Boston Advantage. After playing three seasons with Boston Advantage, Lynch finished his high school career at Barnstable High School last winter. The standout had a 1.80 goals against average and earned Boston Globe All-Scholastic accolades.
“In an effort to play some games, Max has decided to explore options at the junior level for the upcoming semester,” said BU Head Coach David Quinn in a press release on Friday. “He is planning to rejoin our team next fall with sophomore eligibility.
“Fortunately for us, there was a quality goaltender already planning on enrolling at BU for the second semester. We’ve welcomed Nico to our team and he has looked sharp and capable in practice thus far.”
Prawdzik appeared in only twenty minutes of action in his career, stopping all ten shots he faced in a 10-2 rout over Prince Edward Island in an October exhibition game. Nico Lynch will assume Prawdzik’s jersey number-1.
Lynch and the Terriers will take to the ice on Thursday, January 5 to begin second semester play as #10 Union pays a visit to Agganis Arena.
