UPDATE: WTBU Sports can confirm the report that Prawdzik has left BU.
According to SB Nation, third string goaltender Max Prawdzik has left the Boston University men’s hockey program to play with the North American Hockey League’s Lone Star Brahmas.
Prawdzik has been eclipsed in his two seasons at BU by Connor LaCouvee, Sean Maguire (who has since graduated) and currently Jake Oettinger, so it’s no surprise Prawdzik is looking for playing time somewhere.
If he so chooses, Prawdzik can return in the fall of 2017 to complete his final two years of NCAA eligibility. With no goalies committed to BU other than Oettinger and LaCouvee beyond the 2017-18 season, Prawdzik could get his shot to start in a Terrier uniform if he decides to come back.
The Terriers are familiar with the Lone Star Brahmas, snagging forward Oskar Andren from the Texas junior team last December as a replacement for departed forward AJ Greer.
More to come as WTBU Sports learns more.
