Boston University will host the women’s Hockey East tournament it was announced on Monday. The tournament will be held on March 4th and end on March 6th.
“Our program is proud to take on the responsibility of hosting Hockey East’s championship weekend,” BU head coach Brian Durocher said via press release. “I’m confident that our entire administration and staff will do a great job in making it a world-class event and we look forward to supporting the league and all its great teams.”
The tournament will be held at Walter Brown Arena as Hockey East celebrates its 15th anniversary of being a major hockey conference. BU last hosted the conference tournament in 2011, and the Terriers won four straight Hockey East titles between 2012 and 2015.
“Walter Brown Arena is a terrific site for an event of this importance,” said Hockey East commissioner Joe Bertagna in the Boston University press release. “We are thankful for Boston University’s willingness to host and we are happy that our athletes will compete for this championship in such an historic venue.”
