EASTON, Pennsylvania — After losing a heartbreaker to Harvard on Tuesday night, the BU Women’s Soccer Team will look to get back on track as they visit the Lafayette Leopards in a Patriot League matchup.
Lafayette comes in at 5-4-1 overall but 0-3-1 in Patriot League play. The Leopards lost a tough contest in their most recent match, as American scored in the 99nth minute to earn a 2-1 win.
Lafayette’s last five matches have gone into overtime with the last two going into double overtime. In those five matches, the Leopards are just 1-3-1.
The Leopards are led by junior forward Kaelin King who has six goals on the season and ranks second in the league in shots per game at 3.60.
Last time out, BU faced Harvard’s star forward Margaret Purce and were unable to slow her down. Slowing down King on Saturday will be key for the Terriers.
Boston University has yet to lose in conference play this season, going 3-0-1 in the league and currently sitting by themselves atop the Patriot League standings.
Before the loss to Harvard the Terriers were riding a seven game unbeaten streak.
BU is 2-0-0 all- time against Lafayette including a 6-1 win last year on Nickerson Field where Erica Kosienski recorded five points.
Kosienski and the rest of the Terrier offense will look to pick up where it left off in Patriot League Play at Oaks Stadium in Easton, Pennsylvania. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. and can be seen via live stream on the Patriot League website.
